The Minister's Cup

What is the Minister’s Cup?

The Minister’s Cup is the most prestigious award of the Victorian Teachers’ Games (VTG), introduced in 1997 to honour the team or school that best embodies the spirit of the games. This perpetual award celebrates the VTG theme: Participate, Connect, Inspire. It recognises outstanding teamwork, positive participation, and the ability to bring people together through sportsmanship and camaraderie.

Winning the Minister’s Cup is about more than just competing—it's about showcasing the values that make the VTG a unique and enriching experience.

How to Win the Minister’s Cup

To win the Minister’s Cup, teams and schools must excel in exemplifying the VTG spirit. This includes active engagement in sporting, recreational, wellness, and social events, connecting warmly with others through teamwork and encouragement, and inspiring participants by going above and beyond to ensure the success of the games. Nominations for the award are submitted by event conveners and assessed by the VTG Organising Committee. The winning team or school is honoured with the perpetual trophy, which they proudly display until the next year’s VTG.

This year’s recipient, Crib Point Primary, demonstrated exceptional dedication, teamwork, and positivity, earning them the 2024 Minister’s Cup. Their success serves as a shining example of what it means to participate, connect, and inspire through the Victorian Teachers’ Games.
